Cape Verde's World Cup hero, goalkeeper Vozinha, has officially signed with Chilean club Colo Colo. The announcement was made by club president Aníbal Mosa on Friday (24 July). The 40-year-old, who was without a club after leaving Portuguese second-division side Chaves, will travel to Chile for medical tests before his official presentation at the Estadio Monumental.

The agreement between Vozinha and Colo Colo was confirmed after negotiations between the parties. The goalkeeper, who was elected to the World Cup's team of the tournament, played a key role in Cape Verde's campaign, including a 0-0 draw with eventual champions Spain and taking Argentina to extra time in the round of 16.
