Cape Verde is not the world champion, but they won the world over regardless. The Cape Verde national team, led by Bubista, had an incredible campaign in the World Cup, facing three world champions: Spain, Uruguay, and Argentina.

Bubista knew he didn't have a dream team, but he also knew the value of the players he had. He played with the cards he was dealt, trying to get the best out of each player and convincing even his stars that sacrifices were necessary to succeed.

A leader who inspires, unites, and makes the team believe in themselves and their purpose is crucial for success. Bubista was able to turn pressure into motivation, as we expected to see Cape Verde fall or get thrashed in each game... but it didn't happen.
Conquering the World
Cape Verde didn't make it to the final, but they did more than expected and exceeded everyone's expectations. With that, and without winning any titles, they won the world over, in one of the greatest lessons of leadership and humility in football history.
